I just finished my first year of university. I have lived in Merritt all my life.

I support the changes proposed for Fraser-Nicola by the Boundaries Commission in your Preliminary Report. Hope should be added back to Fraser-Nicola, as it was before 2009. The Hope area has more in common with the small towns in Fraser-Nicola than it does with the city of Chilliwack. The people of Hope are very similar to the people of Merritt. We are both small towns. I know some people in Hope are complaining that they have links with Chilliwack and may be prevented from shopping or doing any business there. This does not make any sense. Hope area residents are not physically picking and moving their belongings to Merritt or Lillooet. The Commission is only moving the electoral boundaries. These boundaries are just lines on pieces of paper. Hope residents can shop and do business all they want in Chilliwack. We do the same thing in Kamloops by crossing those little lines on pieces of paper.
