I was born and raised in Merritt and lived there for 25 years. My family and I are still very connected to Merritt and the Nicola Valley as we still own a house and properties in the community.

I support the changes proposed for the electoral boundaries of Fraser-Nicola.

Hope belongs in the same riding as Merritt, Lillooet, Logan Lake, Ashcroft and Lytton. I agree with others who state that all the common interests or community links between Hope and the other communities of Fraser-Nicola – such as geography, history, culture and the economy – have been well-established over the last century and a half, especially over the last 50 years. Hope used to be a part of the same Yale-Lillooet riding and will have more effective representation there as stated in the Preliminary Report. Moving Princeton into the neighbouring Boundary-Similkameen will continue to provide that community with effective representation, too. Therefore, I feel that the changes made in the Preliminary Report for the Cariboo-Thompson Region are correct and I support them. Thank you.
