I have a deep interest in how the Commission decides the New Westminster provincial electoral boundaries.
It is preferable for New West to be in one riding, but unfair to its voters to be under-represented in an overpopulated riding, now the case.
The Commission's solution of uniting Queensborough with Lulu Island is the best option of all options available to the Commission.
I have lived in East Richmond, Queensborough and now, New West the past 16 years. Queensborough and East Richmond are contiguous, evolving their own identity closer to [greater] Richmond.
New West is really an entity and area now, north of the Fraser River. The Commission's proposed decision is compelling and logically sound.
I have a concern the Commission 'stay the course.' There are few, if any, alternative ideas that are proposed. I believe none tabled verbally.
A change now, in the Commission's recommendations, would be surprising and inhibit any constructive response due to the timeline. I urge and recommend the Commission affirm its decision by staying the course
    Respectfully submitted
