Anyone who has lived in Delta knows that there are TWO Deltas: North Delta and South Delta. I know personally as I have lived in both.
They are about the same population and as such fit perfectly into two separate provincial ridings. This has been the case since the 1991 election and should continue to be the case indefinitely. Why? Because it works.
In terms of the proposed changes, you have wisely decided to address population growth in Richmond and Surrey. Clearly these are two fast-growing areas. I support the fact that Surrey received a new seat without spilling over boundaries into Langley or Delta. The proposed change to Richmond is the best option considering the alternative of mixing Richmond with Vancouver or Delta. In both cases, you would be hearing from angry residents right now if you had proposed that.
Let’s give credit where credit is due. You made the right decision with regard to Delta.
Thank you for listening!
