We are part of the Vancouver-Hasting electoral district. "Vancouver Heights", as our neighbourhood is known is currently part of a diverse district that includes Strathcona, east Hastings and this area east of Highway 1. As part of the "Heights" our neighbourhood is really part of the Burnaby Heights area and Burnaby North electoral district. Using Boundary Road as the boundary for the electoral district ignores the characteristics and demographics of the neighbourhood. This neighbourhood east of Hwy 1 to Boundary Road and north of Hastings Street to Burrard Inlet is considerably divergent from the rest of the electoral district and it's interests are not represented well within the current electoral map. We would be well-suited and better represented as part of Burnaby North rather than arbitrarily using Boundary Road as the divider when the natural division would be Hwy 1.
