In case I can't come to a meeting: Please don't follow the Federal lead and lump Penticton with the West Kootenays for the sake of the "statistics". Community is about more than just statistics. In up-country BC we will never have the numbers to compete with the Lower Mainland electoral districts. What is really important is to create elected representatives with areas of responsibility that mimic established cultural and economic affiliation zones. Those of us who live here can easily draw them on a map for you.
The last Federal exercise was a disaster! The number crunchers paid more attention to numbers than our geo-social reality. As a result Penticton is connected all the way east to Slocan and New Denver. Not logical at all. Please keep us linked to the traditional Princeton/Keremeos/Penticton/Summerland area. Thanks.
