My community and electoral district is the Cowichan Valley. My personal feeling and experience of living in the Cowichan Valley since 1995 indicates to me that following natural boundaries and consideration of some unique communities would define my suggestions if any changes are to made.
Apparently the Cowichan Valley has the biggest population as far as electoral areas go on the Island.
    My suggestions:
    (a) the Malahat remain the boundary as it is currently.
    (b) Herd Road is also a natural boundary to the North and should include the community of Maple Bay and Cowichan Bay. These communities use the services available in Duncan. Also they are part of the coastline joining Mill Bay and Cobble Hill.
    (c) Lake Cowichan is a unique community like Crofton and Chemainus and may wish to join Nanaimo-North Cowichan should any changes be deemed necessary.
