Commissioner Justice Thomas Melnick, Chair British Columbia Electoral Boundaries Commission Via Email to

    Dear Commissioner Justice Melnick,

With respect to your consideration of BC Provincial Electoral boundaries and the subsequent representation they delineate, I respectfully submit that the Electoral Districts of Delta North and Delta South best reflect our Delta communities within the Municipality of Delta.

Any consideration of additions from Surrey or Richmond would serve, in my opinion, neither Delta nor the voters of Richmond nor Surrey, as they would merely dilute community representation.

British Columbia continues to grow each year, Surrey and Richmond deserve representation within their municipal boundaries, as does Delta, to best reflect and represent the needs and will of the residents within those communities.

Delta is developing industrial zoning in Tilbury along River Road as well as around the Boundary Bay Airport. Recreational amenities in the North and South Delta areas are progressing like never before. A number of residential developments are before the public which will greatly impact positive growth especially in Delta North.

It would appear from examination of recent Census data and projections that Delta has not only grown but will continue to grow in particular in the Delta North Electoral Division with additions of medium and higher density residences.

Delta continues, and will continue, to be best-served by Provincial representation through the current boundaries of Delta North and Delta South.

    Yours sincerely, in Delta North

    Jim Holt
