    Rick Zacharias, Mission

When I heard about the chance to offer personal views on the possible changes to the electorial borders , I wanted to add my view.
Since the Mission Bridge was built many years ago,( I remember crossing the train bridge previously ) the connection between the two communities has only strengthened . There is a very strong connection between the communities with local residents crossing the river daily for work, shopping, or health care. I have lived in Mission since 2000 and have owned a Bottled Water company in Abbotsford since 1994 , which services both communities . We also share a common water and sewer system , the water system being critical to my business , and I feel that with the current electorial district we're being we'll served
For the last two elections, Mission has been split into two – one side to Maple Ridge and one side to Abbotsford. Over time, I expect that Mission will grow enough to warrant its own seat, but for now I don't see a need to change that , as Mission gets two MLAs for the price of one , but if I had to choose, I would go with Abbotsford. To me it makes more sense for us to go south than to go east to Agassiz or west to Maple Ridge. It’s closer and has a familiar community feel.
Thanks for the opportunity to share my view
    Rick Zacharias
