As a Surrey resident I am tired of always playing second fiddle to Vancouver. We have similar populations and yet Vancouver has 11 ridings, 3 more than Surrey. Some suggest that with our secondary suite issue we are at par with Vancouver and are very likely to surpass them in population one day soon, yet we are grossly under-represented in our Provincial legislature. I believe the place for the badly needed new seat in Surrey that should be squarely in the middle of the most populous Surrey ridings, Cloverdale and Panorama. Making the Panorama Village/Sullivan Hall area the community of interest for this new Surrey riding would make the most sense. Then simply adjust accordingly without pushing Surrey into any of our municipal neighbours. If Vancouver can have 11 purely Vancouver ridings, surely the voters of Surrey can have 9 if not 10 of its own.
