    Glen Ogren, Hope
    2014-11-07

    Good day,
My name is Glen Ogren and i am writing to you today about the proposed changes of this current electoral district. But first a brief background of myself and situation.

My wife and I moved here from Surrey 10 years ago because we were looking for affordable housing and a place to raise our children. We moved here because we wanted to be close enough to the lower mainland if we needed to do anything, but also to enjoy a small town life. We have adopted this community as our hometown and look forward to keeping our roots firmly planted here. Recently I was Hope and District Chamber of Commerce president and currently am running as candidate for mayor in Hope.

Talking with many residents here, this is why many residents live here, proximity to the lower mainland and services that aren't available in Hope, are easily accessed in Chilliwack.

Hope is also a member community of the Fraser Valley Regional district. Head offices in Chilliwack, and services the entire current boundaries of the Chilliwack-Hope riding. Our federal riding also reflects this and I strongly support the riding as is. It doesn't make any real sense to have Hope in a Fraser-Nicola riding when so much of Hope's natural course moves us into the Fraser Valley, and not towards Princeton, or Merritt, or Clinton.

I hope you will consider this request and see fit to keep Hope's political interest in line with federal and regional support so it remains as Chilliwack-Hope.
